Who is David Rapkin?
Some notes I want to turn into articles:
In the Dark (remix) -- guy shoots her dog, a story of halsworth the tycoon and his broken down mercedes, he meets an earlier character in this episode......
At the Border (remix) - An early reading of the "compulsion to wander" bit, story of end of wwii, russian hole worshippers, drill (again the early version), nice absurd lost bit, honking at building to move, rich man becomes wise man after his funeral, bible scenes played in concentration camp outfits
Higher Learning -- his mom tells of her early adulthood, straining to appear likable, humans making up for our physical inferiority, jf the schoolteacher, kim the schoolteacher again (struggling to make her like him), the insignificance of humans in the universe
Insomnia -- very nice karma style, safe for newbies
Cave Dreamer (remix) - killer drought, then underground fortress -- not for me, too much drama
Fat Man Down (remix) -- Death in the family, mom and freddy stories, again with the death metaphors
Karma Don't Deny Me, dating kim the kindergarten teacher, great negotiation between Joe and Larry
Karma Crash, dark but good
Karma 7 great
Karma For Dollars, very nice
Karma 6 "you could call it god's grace...but I wouldn't." Wow, best karma so far, perfect jf intro for newbie. Some absurd at end, lots on god, life, love. Watch out for sounds of Mom's moaning near start
Karma 5, nice thoughtful opener on love, at -18:30 tape irregularities?
Black Light - the comedian, suicide hotline, that guy I don't like, the suicide queue, singing for girlfriends
Fire - all about ruth seymour :-)
On the Edge (remix) : dating war veterans, pop culture rant, euphemisms for death, hysterical motivators (paul simon loop!), dirty toilets, pretty heavy but good
God Only Knows - joe despondent that mary impregnated by god, adam and eve, joe's mom...good serious stuff Pledge 2001 and 1999
Jam - brilliant!
Lost Soul - great dark intro to jf, not too much sex, good stuff on death jfa 4
Bad Karma - sitting @ table with hitler, pol pot etc...have I finished this? Not yet
Philosophy -nice absurd, compulsion to wander jfa 5
At Last - larry and his potsmoking son...wow that's something
At the Dark End of the Bar ...on vacation with parents, sleeping with friend's mom
