Have you ever, walking up the aisle on your way to the bathroom located in the rear of an airliner, needing badly to urinate, passed by a slender blonde woman sitting on the aisle, reading a flight magazine, holding a drink, who, just as you approached, glanced up and adjusted the wire-rim glasses perched on the bridge of her nose and then smiled quizzically at you, and as you gazed back at her, reeling from the fragrance of her perfume, you tried to put together the shattered fragments of your former existence and the remains of your life up to that moment, how you were going to budget out the last butt ends of your days, lay them end to end, and hope that they might make some fearful calculus of time against your death - and then found that you'd urinated on your leg?
Pledge Drive 2002 is a program Joe Frank produced as part of the series The Other Side.
