Joe Frank Mailing List

From The Joe Frank Wiki

Synopsis

The Joe Frank Mailing List exists for the purpose of discussing issues relating to Joe Frank. The list is presently unmoderated. Anything relating to Joe Frank is fair game for this list. To subscribe to the Joe Frank List just follow this link.

History

The Joe Frank Mailing List was established in 1997 by Kalle Hoffman after posting receiving numerous emails from people who had visited his website regarding trading Joe Frank shows on tape. At that time Joe Frank seemed to condone the trading of shows and the list saw much activity (since then, an official website has been launched, and Joe Frank has requested that his fans cease trading tapes and MP3s). Over the years the list has moved from server to server and is currently hosted at www.armory.com.

Code of Conduct

No specific code of conduct has been agreed upon for the Joe Frank Mailing list, as the "fair game" comment from the list's founder seems to be sufficient for most list members. However, during a thread in June 2006, it was suggested that a list of rules be created to guide list members on proper "netiquette". The following guidelines have not been subjected to any review, are not authoritative and are only offered here for discussion.

Suggested conduct while participating in the Joe Frank Mailing List:

  • DO: Post messages that are directly related to Joe Frank and his art, or are expected to be of interest to Joe Frank's fans.
  • DO: Participate! We're a small community, and most of us are a welcoming and tolerant bunch.
  • DO: Try to apply the principles of netiquette. In particular:
    • When responding to a message reveived as part of a daily digest, edit your response so that the entire digest is not reproduced in your response. Ensuring that the subject line is accurate would also be helpful.
    • When you observe a violation of these guidelines, please politely notify the offender in private.
